As you continue to print and become a more experienced screen printer, you will be able to anticipate and remove imperfections. But, believe us, many screen printers work arduously to perfect their craft, only to wish they could re-inject their work with the vibrancy and surprise of their messier days as novice printers. One of the main goals of screen printing (besides creating beautiful artwork we can be proud of) is realizing that the process is just as much fun as the outcome. So have fun, and make a mess.
Screen Printing-Photo Emulsion Method INTRODUCTION TO SCREEN PRINTING
Screen printing is not a complicated process. It is nothing more than pushing a thin layer of ink through a stencil image on a fabric screen. But screen printing is like magic. Ask any practicing screen printer and they will admit to you that they still experience a rush of joy and anticipation in pulling the squeegee, lifting up the screen frame, and revealing their printed artwork each time.
Screen printing is a constant delight and wonder, it is a contrasting mix of satisfying outcomes and unanticipated surprises. If you are just getting started as a beginning printer, your fist printed image may not be perfect, and that’s okay! The splotches, spots or imperfections are a part of the beauty of the screen printing process. The secret of screen printing is to allow these outcomes, and maybe even embrace them. And even then, if you don’t like your print, you just lower the screen back down and pull the squeegee again.

Nylon Mesh are most versatile and most commonly used in screen printing. Nylon has replaced traditional silk as the fabric of choice among screen printers because of its tensile strength, elastic memory and resistance to chemicals, abrasion heat and moisture.
Features: -Non-toxic, odourless, tasteless, high strength, large elongation, excellent flexibility. -With high toughness, good elasticity and resistance to weak acid, oil, alkali, wear resistance, temperature and other characteristics
Decoating Powder
Decoating powder is a white crystalline powder comprising strong oxidizing agent used to reclaim screen printing stencils and mesh by its incredible washing effect.
How to apply Decoater: Mix One Sachet into 250ml of water-Apply the mixture on to both sides of the wet mesh with brush-After one minute wash off with cold water from both sides
DIRECTIONS FOR USE Remove all ink residues by using Ink compatible solvent and reducers. Remove all solvent traces by washing the stencil/ mesh from both sides with soap and water. Prepare a solution of Decoating powder and water. With a brush, apply the Decoating solution to both sides of stencil / mesh. Leave stand for 5-10 mins, do not allow the Decoating solution to dry onto the stencil / mesh otherwise it will get harder to remove.
Printing Essentials
Photo Emulsion
Emulsion Green 200gm for graphic art screen printing. It has high solid contents, gives fine resolution, has fast exposure time, is easily reclaimable and gives trouble free screens.
Photo Emulsion (used with the accompanying Sensitizer) is a light-sensitive emulsion used to burn stencils directly into a silk screen for photo imaging. It is the staple emulsion for making screens with photos, lettering, logos or detailed images.
Sensitizer
Sensitizer Developer for Emulsion
(Dichromate salts contain the dichromate anion) (ratio:10 gram for 1 litre Photo Emulsion)
Sumitex Reducer PC-007-200ml
Sumitex Reducer Economy-PC-007- 200 ml-Screen Printing Ink Reducer-Plastisol Ink-PVC Ink-Vinysheen Ink etc. For Printing and Industrial Use only
Sumitex Reducer PC 007 is designed for 2 purposes. The first need for reducer is when you’re printing wet on wet to prevent the ink from sticking onto the back of the screen, the reducer will make your ink less “sticky.” The second use is to create a softer hand print or reduce the viscosity of your ink.
Step By Step Instruction Booklet
Screen Printing-Step by Step Instruction Booklet (Photo Emulsion Method) with the Kit.
1 inch Brown Tape 65 mtr
Where is a screen taped? Around the edge of the emulsion (top of screen) Over additional stencils you may have burned onto your screen (top of screen) Over registration marks (bottom of screen) Over pinholes (bottom of screen)
Why tape a screen?
Screens are taped to block out open mesh and keep ink from going through the open mesh onto your project.
When should a screen be taped off?
After you have exposed the screen, washed it out and dried it. During your print run, you may tape a portion of the screen off that is no longer being used
Tips: Don’t tape your screen on the top of your stencil too close to your imprint area. During print production, your squeegee will start to peel the tape up from repeatedly hitting it For the same reason, tape registration marks and centre lines on the bottom of your screen Create your registration marks all in a straight line so they can be blocked off with one piece of tape When applying tape to your screen, leave a folded tab at the end to make it easy to grab onto and remove
